As sports betting continues to expand in Michigan, Gun Lake Casino in Wayland became the latest facility in the state to open a sportsbook. The casino has debuted its sportsbook, Stage 131 Sportsbook and Lounge, the newest addition to the state.
Gun Lake Casino partnered with Parx Casino in March to bring sports betting to the western side of the state. The sportsbook opened Oct. 3. The casino is located along U.S. 131 in Allegan County. Michigan online casino bettors will find all the major sports available to wager on, including pro and college football, basketball, baseball, golf, hockey, soccer, boxing, mixed martial arts, tennis and more.
“Our dedication to providing an exceptional sports betting experience stems from our continued reputation of top quality entertainment,” Jose Flores, vice president and general manager of Gun Lake Casino, said in a news release. “We have worked diligently to create a comfortable and exciting atmosphere within Stage 131 Sportsbook and Lounge for all guests interested in sports betting.”
Stage 131 Sportsbook and Lounge features dozens of full-view televisions along with numerous food and drink options for all guests. Bets may be placed at the betting counter inside the lounge, or at self-serve kiosks located throughout the casino.
“Parx Casino is thrilled to partner with Gun Lake Casino to power their retail sports betting business,” Matthew Cullen, senior vice president of interactive gaming and sports for Parx, said in the news release. “We’re excited to bring our expertise in exciting sports betting offerings, aggressive lines and intelligent risk management to the vast Michigan customer base.”
Gun Lake Casino and Parx Casino in Pennsylvania announced their partnership on March 6. In addition to the brick-and-mortar sportsbook at Gun Lake, the agreement will also allow the two parties to offer online sports betting and online casino gaming in Michigan.
Gun Lake and Parx will look to join the rest of the operators hoping to launch its online platforms in Michigan this fall. The latest projection from the Michigan Gaming Control Board points to a potential November launch.
Parx Casino is the biggest land-based casino revenue producer in Pennsylvania.
Lately, it has become more active in the online casino gaming scene.
