Casinos.com spoke exclusively with the newly-appointed Chief Commercial Officer for Evoplay, Ihor Zarechnyi, about the developer’s history, its recent expansion efforts and its views on the future.

What was behind the establishment of Evoplay in 2017?

"We’ve never been satisfied with the status quo and this drive has fuelled our journey from a promising newcomer to a globally recognized games developer."

What do you believe your games feature that sets them apart from those offered by competitors?

Your company is licensed by iGaming regulators in jurisdictions as diverse as Malta, Italy, Portugal and Curacao. Why have you chosen to obtain certifications in multiple markets?

"Expanding into multiple regulated markets has always been a key strategic priority for Evoplay. Our goal is to make our games accessible to as many players as possible while upholding the highest compliance and security standards. By obtaining certifications across different jurisdictions, we build trust and credibility.

"Regulatory approvals also reinforce our commitment to fair play, responsible gaming and top-tier security while helping us to expand our global footprint. 

"The iGaming industry is diverse and each market has its own unique player preferences. Entering multiple jurisdictions allows us to adapt and offer tailored experiences to different audiences. 

"Regulation is also shaping the future of the industry so by proactively obtaining certifications, we position ourselves as a forward-thinking company ready for long-term success."

Can you give us an example of some of these ‘unique player preferences’ and how Evoplay approaches this issue?

"We know that player preferences are shaped by culture, history, popular themes, gameplay mechanics, engagement patterns and generational differences

"For example, Gen Z and younger millennials are often drawn to fast-paced crash and instant games while older millennials and boomers frequently appreciate familiar mechanics and steady gameplay by favoring classic slots, table games and lotteries.

"These preferences additionally vary across regions as our Penalty Shoot-Out instant game was the top choice in Latin America last year while European players preferred our Hot Triple Sevens classic slot.

That’s why Evoplay focuses on a diverse portfolio, cutting-edge visuals and a seamless mobile experience as more players continue shifting to mobile gaming."

Evoplay expanded into the newly-regulated Brazilian market last month via the local certification of its games and random number generator system. Can you tell us why you made this decision and if you are planning to enter any other jurisdictions?

"Entering the Brazilian market was a natural step as it represented an opportunity for us to expand our player base and strengthen our presence in South America. The country has all the ingredients for a thriving iGaming industry including high mobile adoption, strong Internet penetration, a large population and, most importantly, a deep-rooted passion for entertainment. 

"With bingo, horse racing and lotteries historically popular, gambling has long been embedded in the culture and now the rise of online casino games is broadening player choices and driving greater engagement. 

"We’re actively working on entering two major international markets and are optimistic about finalizing one of these this year. Additionally, we’re preparing to establish a presence in another high-potential European market. 

"With each new partnership, we’re solidifying our position and getting closer to our aim of making Evoplay the go-to choice for players worldwide."

You recently exhibited at Spain’s Fira Barcelona Gran Via as part of ICE Barcelona. What did you show off and how were these innovations received?

"ICE Barcelona delivered exactly what the industry needed; a fresh and dynamic setting that elevated the entire experience. This year’s event brought together an even greater number of industry professionals, creating unmatched energy and the perfect environment for networking, innovation and discussions about the future of iGaming.

"Building on this momentum, Evoplay showcased exciting new products including our latest lottery and bingo offerings as well as innovative mechanics like the fresh tapping gameplay in Tap Craze. It was a valuable opportunity to meet with our partners, strengthen relationships and explore future collaborations, which are some of the key reasons we particularly appreciate live events."

When your company looks into the future, what new trends or technologies do you foresee coming to the fore and how do you intend to approach these?

"We believe artificial intelligence-driven personalization will be a game-changer, unlocking deeper and more tailored engagement with players. With greater personalization will come greater responsibility to ensure player security will be crucial in building trust and long-term loyalty.

"Gamification is another powerful force in iGaming and its role will only continue to grow.
