The 2025 Golden Globes nominations have been announced, and at first glance it seems Emilia Pérez might be the big winner on the night.

The Spanish-language musical movie has made history by becoming the most nominated comedy or musical film in the awards show's history after it picked up 10 nods recently.

However, the biggest recognition is being presented the awards themselves. And the prices suggest Emilia Pérez could miss out on a couple of the biggest prizes it has been nominated for.

While the Golden Globes is a huge ceremony in its own right, it also tends to be a decent indicator of who wins statuettes at the following Academy Awards.

Fernanda Torres - I'm Still Here

Pamela Anderson - The Last Showgirl

This could be fantastic news for The Brutalist and Anora, both of which are expected to do battle for Best Picture at next year's Oscars.

The Brutalist looks set to have some Golden Globes success if the early prices are anything to go by.

The epic historical drama film—which stars Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones—is 11/8 favourite to triumph in the Best Motion Picture—Drama category, ahead of its nearest rival, Conclave (6/4).

And it could taste further success at the January 6th ceremony, as Brody is the 10/11 favourite to land the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture trophy.

However, he will face stiff competition from Conclave's Ralph Fiennes, who is Evens second favourite, and A Complete Unknown star Timothée Chalamet (2/1).

The Brutalist has seven nods in total, and the movie's bosses might be pleased to see it is in a separate category from Anora at the upcoming Golden Globes.

That's because, at the time of writing, The Brutalist is second favourite to win Best Picture at next year's Academy Awards—behind Anora.

Anora's Double Favouritism

While there is plenty of early Oscars buzz for Anora, January 6th also looks set to be a great night for the motion picture.

Anora has five nominations across the 2025 Globes board, and some of those are in big categories with the odds in their favour.

Anora is the 6/5 favourite to win the Best Motion Picture—Musical or Comedy gong, ahead of the much-talked-about movie Wicked (11/8) and nominations record-breaker Emilia Pérez, which is 2/1 and the third favourite.

The romantic comedy-drama tells the story of exotic dancer Anora, who is portrayed by Mikey Madison, and the motion picture will head into the Globes in some good form after the movie won the Palme d'Or at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May.

Madison herself also looks set to have a successful night.

She is 1/1 favourite to win the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture prize, ahead of Wicked's Cynthia Erivo (2/1) and Emilia Pérez's Karla Sofía Gascon (5/2).

Jolie Eyes 4th Globes Win

Elsewhere, Angelina Jolie received her ninth Golden Globe nomination when the latest nods were announced, and she is searching for her fourth victory at the ceremony.

She is up for the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture accolade for her portrayal of opera singer Maria Callas in the movie Maria—and she isn't just there to make up the numbers.

Jolie is the early 13/8 favourite to land the Golden Globe, but she faces some stiff competition from big-name actresses.

Sebastian Stan - A Different Man

7/2

Jesse Plemons - Kinds of Kindness

5/1

Hugh Grant - Heretic

 8/1

Gabrielle LaBelle - Saturday Night

10/1

Nicole Kidman's role in the movie Babygirl has been much discussed this year, and she looks set to be Jolie's main competition for this gong.

Kidman is the 7/4 second favourite to land the award, followed by I'm Still Here's Fernanda Torres (4/1) and Pamela Anderson, who is a 5/1 chance for The Last Showgirl.

While that category looks tight, Jesse Eisenberg has a strong lead in the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy market.

Daniel Craig - Queer

He is 5/6 favourite to land the gong for movie A Real Pain, which features Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin as two estranged Jewish American cousins who travel to Poland to honour their late grandmother.

However, if there is a surprise result and Eisenberg is defeated, then the Globe looks most likely to go to either Glen Powell or Sebastian Stan. Powell is the 3/1 second favourite for his role in Hit Man, while Stan is 7/2 for A Different Man's success.
