In the Philippines, local casino operator Bloomberry Resorts Corporation has announced its new Solaire Resort North development will begin opening from next month, following almost six years of work.

The Manila-headquartered firm revealed the coming $1 billion venue is to start welcoming guests by May 25th, before becoming fully operational before the end of 2026.

The company stated the finished venue for a 3.7-acre plot of land adjacent to the Ayala Malls Vertis North retail complex in Quezon City will allow it to better capitalize on the Philippines’ growing mass-market casino scene and solidify its own position ‘as a leader in luxury entertainment’.

Powerful Proposition

Bloomberry Resorts Corporation has been responsible for the 800-room Solaire Resort and Casino in the Entertainment City district of metropolitan Manila for over ten years and first unveiled its Solaire Resort North plan in 2018.

The firm disclosed the coming property, designed by Aedas and Casas+Architects, is to feature 526 hotel rooms, saunas, a spa, plunge pools and state-of-the art gym well as a four-story casino hosting a selection of 2,669 slots and 163 gaming tables including blackjack tables.

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for Bloomberry Resorts Corporation, Enrique Razon Jr, asserted his firm’s 38-story Solaire Resort North development will offer ‘a world of culinary experiences through its signature restaurants’ alongside ‘event venues with international standards for size and capacity’.

The 64-year-old boss declared the completed venue is to bring ‘an elevated resort experience to clientele’ across the northern suburbs of metropolitan Manila and additionally house ‘a curated art program and display comprised of celebrated names in the local and international art scenes’.

“We are excited and proud to share our new property and resort,” Razon said.

“From a decade ago, when we opened Solaire Resort and Casino, it has always been our mission to provide a fresh yet indulgent brand of luxury that has not been experienced in the Philippines before.”

Creation Complications

Bloomberry Resorts Corporation had initially hoped to open its Solaire Resort North property by the end of 2022 but was forced to extend this deadline several times due to construction delays associated with the coronavirus pandemic.

Razon asserted the project has so far created approximately 4,200 jobs and will help to support Quezon City’s embryonic tourism sector alongside its efforts at attracting more economic and social investment.

“At the same time, we anticipate that our presence in Quezon City will positively impact our growth, widen our market footprint and reinforce our brand’s strength,” Razon said.

Diverse Destination

For his part, the President and Chief Operating Officer for Bloomberry Resorts Corporation, Thomas Arasi, described Quezon City as ‘a highly urbanized city’ home to a population ‘with a wide range of demographic interests’.

He furthermore proclaimed the coming Solaire Resort North property will bring his company’s ‘signature brand of excellence’ closer to this fast-growing area and allow punters to experience a ‘luxury resort with five-star facilities and amenities’.

“We saw an opportunity to provide more exclusive experiences not just to our existing northern clientele but to a larger, untapped market,” Arasi said.

“We want to bring the signature Solaire Experience closer to our valued guests and introduce what and who we are as a brand to a larger audience.”
