Sports betting and iGaming software provider Altenar has expanded its presence in South America after being certified by the regulator for Peru and opening an office in the Brazilian metropolis of São Paulo.  

Established in 2011, Altenar supplies its innovative solutions to licensed iGaming operators serving over 50 nations including Belgium, Sweden, Romania and the United Kingdom. 

The Malta-headquartered firm has been active in multiple Latin American online casino markets for some time and last year debuted a regional office in Uruguay. 

Swelled Standing 

Marina Zacharopoulou serves as the Senior Compliance Manager for Altenar and she told Casinos.com her company’s move into the Peruvian iGaming market will ‘solidify its reputation as a trusted and adaptable sportsbook provider worldwide’.

The seasoned executive also detailed this premiere came after the nation of some 34 million people passed legislation in October of 2023 to inaugurate a regulated online gambling market complete with sports betting.

“Achieving homologation in Peru is a testament to our team’s dedication and expertise in navigating regulatory landscapes,” Zacharopoulou said.

“This milestone positions us for further growth across Latin America, ensuring operators in the region have access to a fully certified and high-performing sportsbook solution.”

Rising Register 

Zacharopoulou asserted her company is now ‘well positioned to work with licensed operators’ looking to take advantage of the potential of the Peruvian iGaming market. As such, she clarified the provider will be promoting all of its innovations at associated exhibitions across Latin America throughout the year including at June’s two-day Peru Gaming Show.

“Despite the challenges the recent regulation of the Peruvian iGaming market have brought to operators, we are thrilled to step in with our fully-certified solution,” Zacharopoulou said. 

“We are excited to add Peru to the list of regulated countries we support and we’re ready to keep empowering operators to unlock their full potential.”

Brazilian Boost 

In related news, Altenar has additionally opened an office in São Paulo so as to be able to take advantage of the growth opportunities presented by Brazil’s newly-regulated iGaming market. 

The company contends this move highlights its strategy of wanting to be as close as possible to key markets alongside the potential of a giant nation hosting more than 212 million potential punters. 

The Sales Manager for Altenar, Frederico Caputi, told Casinos.com his firm, which is moreover certified by the iGaming regulator for the Canadian province of Ontario, will now be able to provide clients in Brazil with ‘improved support’ encompassing faster onboarding and invoicing in the local currency. 

The skilled professional went on to describe the new São Paulo office as an ‘exciting development’ that perfectly aligns with his company’s ‘commitment to growth and excellence in Latin America’. 

“Opening the São Paulo office is a strategic step for Altenar as it will allow us to better serve our partners and streamline operations within Brazil's thriving market,” Caputi said. 

“This local presence will not only enhance our customer support capabilities but also significantly boost our responsiveness to market needs and regulatory changes.” 

Future Focus  

Caputi emphasized Altenar has utilized recent advances in sports betting technology to tailor its solutions to the varying demands of the young and mobile-savvy population of Brazil. 

He explained these enhancements mean operators can now take advantage of fast market widgets and a standalone eSports lobby to make the most of increasing demand and the needs of an eager fanbase. 

“This year is set to be a pivotal year and we are committed to driving innovation and delivering the best sportsbook solutions to operators in all regulated markets, including Brazil,” Caputi said. 

“We have ambitious plans to expand our risk management tools and fine-tune our personalization features while we are also ready to explore new strategic partnerships and refine our approach to the Brazilian market.”
