Amsterdam is the venue for the poker event World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2025.
Players will head to the Dutch city from Friday, March 14th, until Saturday, March 22nd, marking the end of the partnership with the World Poker Tour (WPT), which has been held annually in Amsterdam since 2015.
Since 2017, Holland Casino has been organizing the WSOP International Circuit, most recently in Holland Casino Venlo and before that in the Rotterdam branch. There will also be the annual WSOP event held in Venlo.

Players can expect a warm Dutch welcome and to take advantage of all the city has to offer outside of the poker rooms.
COO of WSOP Gregory Chochon said: “The players have shown that they deserve a second Circuit event in the Netherlands.
“We are excited to bring the World Series of Poker to Amsterdam. Holland Casino Amsterdam Centrum is an excellent location in a beautiful city. We expect a great turnout.” added Chochon.
Speaking about the move Director of gaming and services, Pieter Boers, said: “With the WSOP, we have succeeded in bringing another strong international poker brand to Holland Casino Amsterdam Centrum. I think we will make all poker-loving Netherlands very happy with this.”
With the arrival of the WSOP in Amsterdam Centrum, the collaboration with the WPT ends. This means that this year was the last WPT Prime event in Amsterdam. The WPT and Holland Casino have decided in good consultation to end the collaboration.
The WPT Amsterdam took place from 2015 to 2024, with the exception of 2021 due to COVID. The year 2024 was special with the highest number of participants ever for the €1,100 Main Event: no less than 1,340 entries, a Dutch record.
Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
