While nearly every studio licenses the Megaways mechanic nowadays, its creator, Big Time Gaming, still makes the best Megaways games. Its original invention made the debut in Dragon Born, and there were two more Megaways slots before Bonanza changed the industry for good. It was about time for BTG to make a sequel, and it came in Bonanza Falls.
I wasn’t that big of a fan of the original Bonanza slot. The unimpressive base game and theme weren’t to my liking. But, I must admit – it turned out to be one of my favorite slots, thanks to the great winning potential. Bonanza Falls takes that to the next level, offering wins over 93,500x the bet. You read that right – the sequel is a much sharped and more rewarding slot game.
It has 117,649 winning ways and a setup that looks much like the original. With updated graphics, of course. If you loved the first one, be sure to give the Bonanza Falls slot a try.
This one is not very different if you played the first Bonanza slot. The layout is the same, and just like me, you might be confused when you take a look at it for the first time. It seems nothing has changed, although slight visual and audio improvements give it away. The hum from the waterfall in the background sounds great, and the graphics look much sharper.
In terms of symbols, you still get all kinds of gems and colorful card royals. Above the reels are the mining carts carrying extra symbols that can step in when required. Overall, it’s a simple slot in visual and gameplay terms, so you won’t find it hard to spin it on your PC or on the go.
The Bonanza Falls online slot is fully mobile-optimized. It works on a range of mobile devices, including Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. I didn’t need to download any software to play it on the go – it ran perfectly from a mobile browser.
The first thing I did before spinning the Bonanza Falls slot was set my bet. The options went from 20c to $10 per spin, which is common for Megaways releases. The stake tool is to the right above the Spin button. You can also use the Autoplay feature to set up to 100 automatic spins. Once you hit the Spin button, the reels will turn with a nice animation, while the number above the mining carts displays the number of winning ways per spin.
For those unaware of how it works, the winning ways are directly related to the number of symbols that land on a reel. The minimum is two, while the maximum is seven. The more symbols you land on a reel, the larger the number of winning ways.
Every winning symbol is part of a reaction win. In short, it triggers a cascade. New symbols take the place of the ones used in winning combinations. The carts above the reels play a role, too. Each might add a symbol on all reels, but the first one. Wild can land on the reels this way and substitute for all symbols except coins and bonus symbols.
What’s different from the first Bonanza slot is the Coin Dozers. They appear only in the carts and may deliver one or more bonuses during free spins.
Four scatters that spell GOLD on the reels award 12 free spins. Every extra triggering scatter over the four gives you four more spins. There’s a progressive multiplier feature in the bonus round, which I personally love. However, it doesn’t increase by reaction wins like in the base game. But worry not – the multiplier can be upgraded via the Coindozer mechanic. Bonus coins can drop from above on the grid, pushing them toward the edge above the grid.
They can give you one out of four features, including:
The Bonanza Falls slot RTP is set to 96.51%, which is excellent for a highly volatile Megaways game. You can earn payouts up to 93,540x the bet with the highest possible multipliers.
Bonanza Falls is a much more rewarding slot than the original. I think it’s safe to say it’s a bit more exciting, too. The winning potential is definitely over the top – there aren’t many slots at top online casinos that pay as much as this one. If you love Megaways titles, you’ll love this one. Mining-themed slots may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you'll love to spin them when they’re made this great.

Yes, it is. It’s right there in the name. As a Megaways slot, it has a maximum of 117,649 ways to win. You can hit that number by landing up to seven symbols per reel, after which the calculation is made. With less than seven symbols, the estimates are lower.
Nearly all of BTG’s Megaways slot games have a high RTP. That’s the case with Bonanza Falls, too. Its RTP is set to 96.51%, which is higher than the average for slots of its kind. The figure is excellent and ideal for the highly volatile math model.
The Bonanza Falls slot doesn’t have paylines. As mentioned earlier, it’s a Megaways slot. It relies on a different number of winning ways that depend on the maximum number of symbols that land per reel, up to seven. The more symbols land, the higher the winning potential.
Yes, you can. The slot is fully mobile-optimized and runs on a range of mobile devices. You can give it a go on Android smartphones or play it on your iOS devices. It has the same layout and works in the same way as it does via desktop browsers.
No, you don’t. That’s the neat part – it works like a charm without downloading any casino or slot apps. Fire it up from a mobile browser, and you can play it on the go with ease. The layout and setup are completely the same.
The Megadozer mechanic adds Coin Dozer symbols above the reels in the mining carts. They can drop down below on the grid, adding different modifiers that are active in the bonus round. These include random multipliers up to x10, extra spins, an increase for the win multiplier (+1), or wild symbols with x5 multipliers.
Yes, the Bonanza Falls online slot has a free spin round. It is triggered when the letters GOLD land on the reels, giving you 12 free spins. Any additional scatter over 4 gives you four extra spins. The progressive multiplier starts at x1 during the bonus, but unlike the base game, it doesn’t increase with reaction wins.
The original Bonanza slot by Big Time Gaming is the closest you come to Bonanza Falls. If you’re looking for similar mechanics and features, you should try BTG’s Extra Chilli. Other great slots you can try include Max Megaways 1 and 2, also by Big Time Gaming.
The Bonanza Falls slot was released on December 11, 2023.
