This is not the only dragon you will encounter in the slot. The parent dragon sits above the reels, while a collection of quirky-looking dragons make up the symbols on the grid. PG Soft has mixed things up with the Dragon Hatch base game. The slot uses a 5x5 game grid and a cluster-pay mechanic. Winning clusters are paid when players land four or more symbols touching one another vertically and horizontally. 

Like most other Cluster Pays slots I have played, Dragon Hatch utilizes a Cascading Wins mechanic. Whenever you hit a winning cluster, all symbols involved are removed from the grid, and new ones fall into their place. This continues until no new clusters are formed. 

The action really kicks off when you trigger one of the Dragon Hatch bonus features. Whenever you land a win, the symbols involved will be collected in a meter above the reels. This happens during Cascades and is then reset when no new wins are formed. 

If you collect ten or more symbols, the Earth Dragon feature is triggered. This removes all low-paying symbols from the reels for the next spin. In my experience, this feature was triggered fairly often, with a maximum of three consecutive wins during a Cascade needed to launch it. 

If you collect 30 symbols, the Water Dragon Feature is launched. During this, four additional Wild symbols are added to the grid. 

Collecting 50 or more symbols will trigger the Free Dragon feature. For this, one symbol is randomly selected and is then added to the reels in a checkered pattern, significantly boosting the chances of landing a big win. 

Finally, collecting 70 or more symbols triggers the Dragon Queen Feature. When this triggers, all low-paying symbols are transformed into higher-paying ones or Wilds. 

Unfortunately, if you want to trigger the bonuses, this is the only way of doing it, with no buy bonus option. I found that the later bonuses took a very long time to trigger, but the early bonuses triggered fairly frequently. 

My first impression when I loaded up the Dragon Hatch slot was that this was clearly a slot designed for mobile use. The narrow reels in the middle of the screen do feel a little cramped on the desktop version, so I would recommend playing this on mobile devices first. 

I really like the interface of PG Soft slots. The control panel is really easy to use, the menus are simple to navigate, and it is never difficult to find any of the information you are looking for.
