The design of the game is pretty good, to be fair (pun fully intended). We have a boardwalk with a diner and some classic cars. The slot layout is a classic 3x5 grid, which is on some photobooth stall thing. Above the 5 reels is a multiplier counter that includes x2, x3, x5, x10, and x100. 

Throughout the game, you have this 50s-type swing music with horrid organ harmonies. Now and again, the two characters of this game speak, saying something wet, like how pleasant the weather is and when the fireworks start. It’s all too wholesome for me, but this is set in the 1950s, a far different time from sliding into a girl's DMs, praying they are a girl. You have to check bios these days to see what flags and pro-nouns appear.

To be fair, the industry isn’t exactly littered with romantic slots. While it’s not my thing, so far, the premise of the game and what it offers is a damn sight better than most slots for real money on the market right now. 

Love is in the Fair plays like a basic slot machine, but several features make this game eye-catching. The first of the main features that will help you to win is the Love Map. If you manage to collect 15 romantic pictures, then you will get to unlock the 100x multiplier. That’s a possible $10,000 payout right there. 

Next, we have the free spins bonus round, which is triggered by landing 3+ of the romantic picture symbols. You can retrigger more free spins when you land 3 or more romantic picture symbols. When this happens, you will also increase the multiplier value. Now, during base play, romantic picture symbols can become stacked, and this can also trigger the free spins.

When I saw the theme, my eyes rolled into the back of my head. Slumping forward and regaining my vision, I saw that this was made by Play’n GO, and faith was restored. Now, I admit, this game is pretty good. There are a lot of smart elements to this game, which again is something players should fully expect from the developer.

I set my price of bet to $2 per spin and set the autoplay to 50 spins. The result was an absolute disappointment. Nothing hit in terms of a feature and no bonus round. I was down from what I started on. 

I played $2 per spin again and another 50 spins, and this time, I muted the game as the two characters didn’t shut up. It was an abject failure once again, but hey, that’s how it goes sometimes. One thing that wasn’t mentioned in the game’s paytable or rules did happen during my experience, and that involved the multiplier counter. During one spin, the reels kept rotating, and the multiplier counter began to power up. It landed on x10, and then the reels stopped. No win landed, so that was unlucky. But, yeah, up till then, I wasn’t away that happened.

This explains why the game comes with a high volatility setting. As for the RTP, this comes in at a score of 96.20%. What does all this mean? Is it the best game Play’n GO has released in the last 5 years? No. Would I play the game for real money? Possibly. What’s great about the game? The fact that there are in-play features that help to enhance win capability and entertainment. What sucks about the game? The features stop too short. The map is a great idea, but it wasn’t utilized in any great way. For example, at each stage reached on the map, the gaming background should have at least changed.
