The Mutagenes slot comes with two main features that can influence the game and what can be won. The first is the Infection feature. Infections transform low-valued symbols into one of the higher-valued ones. 

The second feature is the main bonus round. Land three scatter symbols to unlock this feature, and you will be awarded with free spins. You will play with seven free spins, and in this round, an increasing multiplier, expanding Wild symbols, and the Infection feature:

I’m a fan of Peter & Sons' work, and given that it’s been so long since I last played their games, I took on the task of playing Mutagenes with a smile on my face. It took four spins to win my first payout, and this was $5.40, which even came with a x3 multiplier. The multiplier increases with each win made. Twenty-five spins played and so far, no further wins made. This is turning into an absolute nightmare. 

On spin 35, I won $8, which is nothing compared to the loss I have experienced. I won another $0.60, $4, and $6.40 in my final few spins, and that’s it. What a horrid experience. Well, I used to like Peter & Sons, but this game was just one long, repetitive kick in the groin. 

The Mutagenes slot has a high volatility setting and a 96.30% RTP. The maximum that gets paid out is 12,000 times the betting value. If you bet $75 per spin, the total jackpot will be $900,000, which is solid value for money. There are some slots out there that charge higher to win the same return.

Well, I have to say that Mutagenes has left me somewhat disappointed, and perhaps, if I am totally honest, I’d rather not play this game ever again. My experience was poor, and it might be down to the high volatility setting, but for 95% of the game, nothing landed.
