Play’n GO is one of the most active slot developers in the industry, boasting some of my all-time favorite real money slots in its collection. However, when a studio is as active as Play’n GO, it also means some less memorable titles are in its catalog. In this Pandastic Adventure slot review, I will be taking the slot for a spin to find out which of the two categories this Asian-themed adventure falls into.
If you have ever taken a panda-themed slot for a spin before, then there is very little about Pandastic Adventure’s design that will stand out. I could see flashes of Kung-Fu Panda in the game’s design; only the titular Panda did not look quite as friendly. The rest of the imagery is what you would expect from the genre, with a bamboo stick, a golden armband, and a hat all making appearances, with the traditional 10-A symbols all being fashioned out of bamboo. Overall, I found the design very generic, and while the visuals are far from bad, they will not stand out from the pack either.
The game's design is solid enough, but the features and the winning potential felt quite generic.
Play’n GO keeps things nice and simple with the base game for the Pandastic Adventure online slot. The game has five reels, three rows, and 20 paylines. You can form winning combinations by matching three or more symbols across adjacent reels. All winning combinations must start on the leftmost reel.
You can adjust the stake along the bottom of the screen using the +/- buttons, and you will also find the spin and autospin options located on the same control panel.
Basic is the name of the game with Pandastic Adventures, with Play’n GO not really stepping outside of its comfort zone with the bonus features. When three or more scatters land, they will trigger the Journey to the Temple free spins round. They will be given eight spins, with an additional spin being added each time a scatter lands during the spins.
Wilds act as multipliers in the round, adding 8x to any win that lands. Wilds are also collected, with the Temple Treasure Bonus triggering when you collect eight.
The Temple Treasure is a fairly standard hold and spin-style bonus. Players are rewarded three respins, with all standard symbols removed. Whenever a money symbol lands, the spin count resets. Players can also win one of four jackpots during this round - the Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand. These reward 50x, 100x, 1,000x, and 5,000x your bet, respectively.
While I found the Pandastic Adventure slot game easy to play, I must admit it was not a particularly memorable slot. The game's design is solid enough, but the features and the winning potential felt quite generic.
The game can be played for stakes between $0.10 and $100, which suits my budget and, I think, will cover the majority of budgets for other players as well.
I also took the Pandastic Adventure mobile slot for a test-run as well. Unsurprisingly, it played well on mobiles, which is something I have come to expect when playing Play’n GO online slots.
I would recommend taking the Pandastic Adventure slot demo for a spin before you play for real money. This will give you a chance to work out whether the slot is going to be for you or not before you part ways with your cash.
I found the Pandastic Adventure math model to be okay, but not enough to elevate the overall game for me. The slot is considered medium/high on the volatility scale, which I think was reflected in my own gameplay experience. Massive wins were rarely served up, but I did land a few good ones during the Temple Treasure bonus. The maximum win on offer is 6,500x your stake, and the RTP is 96.20%, which are both good numbers but, once again, weren’t enough to overcome the game’s flaws.
I’ve taken a lot of Play’n GO slots for a spin over the years, and while they are often extremely consistent, the odd forgettable effort sneaks through the cracks. The studio is extremely active, so the occasional slot feels like it fell off the production line, and Pandastic Adventure is an example of that. There is very little that I thought was memorable about the game, with the design, 6,500x maximum win, and bonus features all feeling a little uninspired.
If you want to find a panda slot that is more enjoyable at the best casino sites, I would recommend Eye of the Panda from Hacksaw Gaming or Big Bamboo from Push Gaming. The latter of these, especially, is an excellent example of what you can do with the theme.
