DON’T PANIC! If you intend playing the National Lottery this weekend for the big bonus of £7.3 million, you may have seen reports that there has been an outage on their systems.
You may have been one of the hundreds of people who were left in limbo on Thursday and were unable to access the National Lottery app. The good news is that the planned maintenance work has been completed but you might still find a delay as there has been a surge in people using the app ahead of the weekend jackpot.
Some issues were still noted this morning, with players being met by a message apologising and saying that the National Lottery’s online services are “temporarily unavailable” and requesting patience.
Casinos.com created a brand-new account just to test the system and the good news is we managed to purchase a ticket for Saturday’s draw.
The £7.3 triple rollover comes after the Wednesday draw remained unclaimed.
One ticket holder did scoop a £1 million prize after matching five out of six numbers and the bonus ball. The winning Lotto numbers were 07, 20, 33, 50, 51 and 57, with the bonus number 44.
An Allwyn spokesperson said: “The National Lottery website and apps were closed overnight for planned maintenance and reopened again just before 8 a.m. on Thursday. We appreciate players bearing with us and wish them the best of luck in this weekend’s draws.”
Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
