The payout process for the winner may take some time, and they have the option to remain anonymous if they choose to do so.

Andy Carter, the senior winners' adviser at The National Lottery, expressed his excitement, stating, "This is absolutely incredible news, and we’re delighted to have received a claim. This is the second substantial UK EuroMillions jackpot win this month."

Another fortunate player was made a millionaire during the recent Friday drawing by matching the unique code (MWPC38104) in the UK Millionaire Maker, further emphasising the appeal of EuroMillions gameplay.

Lotteries Top List for Gambling Brits

The rise in lottery participation raises questions regarding gambling trends in the UK. Campaign groups advocating for stricter gambling regulations may increasingly focus on lotteries, which have become the preferred gambling option for many Brits.

The UK Gambling Commission recently released its annual report from the Gambling Survey for Great Britain (GSGB), revealing that lotteries top the list of popular gambling products in the country.

According to the survey, 48% of adults aged 18 and older engaged in some form of gambling within the last month, with 31% specifically participating in the National Lottery.

Andy Carter emphasised the important role that lottery funding plays, noting that the National Lottery generates an impressive £30 million weekly for a variety of projects and numerous community initiatives.

Responsible Gambling Applicable to Lottery and Scratch Cards

While the National Lottery provides significant funding for public projects, there are concerns regarding the potential for gambling addiction associated with lottery and scratch card participation.

The NHS has established several resources to assist individuals struggling with gambling addiction, including the National Gambling Clinic, which launched multiple sites across the country in 2022. Additionally, a website offers links to various gambling addiction helplines, ensuring support for those in need.
