People come to Las Vegas not only for gambling, but there are also exquisite dining options, a multitude of nightclubs and, of course, the concerts and residencies that come to town. The early part of 2025, however, has seen some of those residencies affected by cancelations and postponements. The answer? Schedule some more concerts and residencies that will be more than willing to step up and take their place.
One of the most anticipated shows in 2025 for the Las Vegas scene was the arrival of Black Eyed Peas to the PH Live stage at Planet Hollywood. After announcing “Black Eyed Peas: 3008-The Vegas Residency” in September 2024, the BOP was expected to open their fifteen-show residency on February 15. That residency has now been canceled, with a questionable reason for the abandonment.
Last Tuesday, the announcement was made on Black Eyed Peas Instagram Stories that the entirety of the schedule had been canceled due to “current circumstances.” “To our dearest Peabodies,” the band posted, “It is with a heavy heart that, in light of current circumstances, our Las Vegas shows will not be moving forward as planned.” So, what are these “current circumstances?” Rumors around the city imply that tickets for the shows were not selling and, rather than putting on a show to a small audience, it was decided to abandon the residency.
The news also is not good for the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Carlos Santana, either. Scheduled to start last week at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino’s House of Blues, the legendary guitarist suffered a fall at his home in Kauai, Hawaii, earlier in January and had to have pins inserted into his left hand and finger to stabilize a broken finger. This has forced the postponement of the January/February dates for the residency, which will now start on May 14 at the House of Blues.
While Santana and Black Eyed Peas might be stepping away from the stage – and Shania Twain wraps up her impressive “Come On Over” residency at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood on February 8 – a trio of acts will be coming to Las Vegas to entertain locals and visitors alike.
Another Rock & Roll Hall of Famer will step into the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay while Carlos Santana heads out for a European tour in June. Scheduled from June 13-21 for five dates, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts will blast onto the stage, delivering Jett’s unapologetic embrace of hard-core rock and roll. The shows are set for June 13-14, June 18, and June 20-21, and for a Vegas mini-residency they are fairly priced; you can start with the cheapest ticket at $59.50, with VIP packages going over $1000.
The ladies seem to be taking over Las Vegas with their shows. In May, a “one-night-only” event will go off at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms Casino Resort featuring another Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group, The Go-Go’s. On May 15, the Beauty and the Beat creators will have a one-off show with tickets already on sale. The balcony area features the least expensive ticket at $59 (plus fees), and secondary tickets over Ticketmaster are currently fetching up to $289 per seat. It will be a rare occasion to see The Go-Go’s together, who have not actively toured in several years.
Announced this Monday morning, pop songstress Katy Perry will also be making her move on Las Vegas in May. Getting ready to kick off “The Lifetimes Tour,” the former host of American Idol will be reviving her singing voice to head out on an international tour. As one of the first stops of that tour, Perry will be hitting the T-Mobile Arena on May 17, with tickets for the singular show going on sale to the general public on January 31 at 10 AM (Pacific) on AXS.com.
Perry is taking the tour worldwide, specifically focusing on her new album 143. After performing the FireAid Benefit Concert in Los Angeles on January 30, Perry will kick off “The Lifetimes Tour” in Mexico City on April 23 before heading to Monterrey and Guadalajara in May. Perry will then return to the U.S. for six shows leading up to the Las Vegas concert and, in June, take the roadshow to Australia for a series of dates.
