On January 28, the Indiana House Public Committee pushed House Bill 1432 forward to the Ways and Means Committee with a 9-2 vote. The House bill was put forward by Representative Ethan Manning and, if legalized, would authorize the Indiana Lottery Commission to operate the sale of draw games and e-Instant games on the internet.
However, the bill still faces much opposition, with a representative from PENN Entertainment saying that his company would not support it due to its cannibalization of the market. Some casino operators worry that the shift from land-based to online platforms will affect them negatively.
