American casino operator Mesquite Gaming LLC has announced it will be spending upwards of $6 million this year to substantially renovate the gaming floor and showroom areas of its CasaBlanca Resort & Casino.
Situated in the small Clark County city of Mesquite, the 472-room CasaBlanca Resort & Casino already features a 25,000 sq ft casino destination hosting a selection of almost 880 slots alongside 18 gaming tables and a sportsbook. The 3.5-star facility, located only a few miles from Nevada’s border with Utah, also has 70,000 sq ft of event space as well as a trio of restaurants and an 18-hole golf course.
The Chief Executive Officer for Mesquite Gaming LLC, Justin Moore, revealed work on the ‘extensive remodeling project’ will begin in May and finish in the fall. He explained that the coming venture is to double the size of the CasaBlanca Resort & Casino’s showroom via the addition of a new sports bar. It'll allow the tropical-themed property to welcome more than 200 new slots to its casino.
“This substantial investment being made by our new ownership group will have a transformational impact on the casino and showroom, elevating the Casablanca Resort & Casino experience for all guests,” Moore said.
“Every dollar will go into making this already successful resort more welcoming and enjoyable for our customers.”
Moore told Mesquite Local News the looming renovation will also involve the hanging of new showroom chandeliers and the construction of sound-deadening fabric walls to ‘add energy to the casino floor’. The executive went on to contend the location of the future sports bar is set to enliven an area ‘that has always been a little quiet and maybe less traveled’.
“The new showroom is a great way for us to enhance the free entertainment experience that we currently give,” Moore said.
“If you love music and free entertainment, that’s where you’re going to want to be. So, I’m really excited to see how our guests react to that whole new side of the casino.”
Mesquite Gaming LLC purchased the 42-acre CasaBlanca Resort & Casino in 1997 and asserted all of the southern Nevada property’s ‘operations and amenities’ including its spa, 45-space RV park, outdoor pool, and 24 time-share apartments are to ‘remain open throughout the remodeling phase’.
The operator, which is also responsible for the nearby Virgin River Hotel & Casino, explained that local specialist Harris Associates Limited will be handling all contracting duties on designs formulated by Las Vegas-headquartered Steelman Partners.
A well-known architecture and interior design firm, Steelman Partners, has extensive experience in the gaming and hospitality industry via past partnerships with the likes of MGM Resorts International, Genting Group, Wynn Resorts Limited, and Caesars Entertainment Incorporated.
For its part, Harris Associates Limited previously worked on projects including last year’s building of a 5,500 sq ft high-limit slots lounge for Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa, in addition to the 2021 construction of the Kassi Beach House within the 1,500-room Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
