The Mississippi Gaming Commission has posted state-wide casino revenues for July 2024, bouncing back from June 2024. Mississippi casino posted $205,510,674.52 in revenues in July, up from $202,058,221.97 in June, a 1.71 percent increase month-on-month. However, year-on-year casino revenues fell, with the July 2024 revenues showing a decline of 5.98 percent compared to July 2023.
There are 30 land-based casinos in Mississippi, and the data released by the Mississippi Gaming Commission shows that most of these saw revenues decline. The Gaming Commission doesn’t release information about specific casinos; instead, it provides overviews of regions in MS.

The state’s northern region casinos saw the most significant revenue decline, falling over 9 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, central region casinos saw revenues drop by 6.64 percent. These two regions accounted for 33.62 percent of the Magnolia State’s total casino revenues in July 2024.
The largest revenue region, the coastal region, saw the smallest change in revenues, which declined by 4.74 percent. Revenues generated in July 2024 and July 2023 amounted to $136,404,084.09 and $143,196,496.77, respectively.
While the year-on-year outlook is negative for Mississippi casinos, July revenues showed an increase compared to the previous month. Despite the rise in overall month-on-month revenues, two regions still experienced a decline in earnings. The Central region brought in 3.47 percent less month-on-month, while Northern region revenues dropped slightly by 0.59 percent.

Casino revenues weren’t the only gambling segment to experience a decline in July 2024. Revenues from sports betting also dropped across the state during the month. In Mississippi, bettors must be on the grounds of a casino to place wagers. The state handled $13,919,354.01 across all its regions, with taxable revenues at $1,876,206.15. This marked a 12.35 decrease compared to July 2023. The win rate for bettors in MS in July 2024 was 13.48 percent.
