While Vegas might be known for the neon lights and showgirls more than traditional romance, the city is a destination for a quick wedding—over 100,000 people get married there every year.
Hundreds of thousands more honeymoon in Vegas, combining a romantic trip with a spot of gambling and a few meals in luxurious restaurants like Lago at the Bellagio or the Top of the World at the Stratosphere. If you’re really lucky and you have the budget, you might even want to do a helicopter flip to see the city by night.
But above all else, the thing that can make or break a romantic Las Vegas trip is the hotel and casino where you decide to stay. While some rooms have gorgeous views of the Strip, and come complete with soaking tubs and rainfall showers, others will leave a lot to be desired, with carpark views and bedbugs.
We looked for mentions of words like "romantic," "proposal," and “wedding,” to find out which hotels in Vegas are perfect for lovers, based on Tripadvisor reviews. We rated these properties:
Coming in at number one on our list is the Venetian, which might not be so surprising, considering that it’s themed around the real Venice. The Venetian received a rating of 5.50%, with over 1,900 mentions of our keywords.
“This place is amazing. Everything about it was classy. We stayed for our honeymoon. The room was spotless, the bath was really deep, we had a great view, and the bed is WOW," said one review.
But beware—one unhappy reviewer noted that they didn’t even get a free bottle of water for their honeymoon. Call that five stars?!
Next up, the Wynn got 4.02%, with most of the reviews raving about the luxurious experience. Said one review, “My husband and I have spent two romantic weekends at the Wynn and have had the most amazing time. The food options are endless and the restaurants are amazing.”
Rounding out the top three, Treasure Island was a real dark horse here, getting 3.64% on the scale. While not traditionally considered a romantic destination, Treasure Island had 333 mentions of “wedding” and 128 of "honeymoon."
“All staff are so helpful and nice. Beautiful rooms. Lots of things to do. Romantic atmosphere. Definitely what we were looking for"—sounds like it’s worth a try!
Be honest now, have you ever heard someone say, “I’m going to take my sweetheart for a romantic stay at the Park MGM”? No? Neither have we, so it might not be all that surprising to hear that this is the casino that placed bottom of the romance rankings.
With an absolutely pathetic 0.99% on the scale, only one person out of 15,000 used the word "engaged," and according to one review, “We stayed in this hotel because of a family wedding. EVERYONE that stayed at the Park MGM got sick because of the poor ventilation and HVAC maintenance." That sure doesn’t scream “romance” to us.
Harrah’s did almost as badly, with 1.12% on the scale. Seven reviews did use the word "romantic," although some of them were along the lines of “If it was going to be a couples weekend and romantic, I would NEVER stay here.”
Casinos.com utilized Tripadvisor reviews to do an in-depth analysis of phrases associated with romance to determine the most romantic casino in Las Vegas. We calculated the percentage of mentions in the total Tripadvisor reviews.
