Swingers Crazy Golf inside Mandalay Bay opened on Friday. It’s the latest effort by an MGM Resorts property to bring good wholesome fun to adults who came to Las Vegas to party.
The mini golf experience is equal parts golf, club, bar, restaurant, and arcade all inside a Las Vegas casino.
There are four Swingers locations worldwide, and at 40,000 multi-level square feet, Las Vegas is the largest. The new flagship Swingers includes four “crazy” golf courses, a Swingers Arcade with old-school amusement games like Skee-ball, food by Emmy Squared Pizza, full bars with signature cocktails and local beer on draft and a DJ booth.
Guests in the adults-only venue could spend hours just eating, drinking, and playing various games.
Swingers Las Vegas is a huge open-concept multi-level venue. After checking into Swingers, guests proceed upstairs to the main level which includes a huge bar and Emmy Squared Pizza.
The venue has four Crazy Golf courses on two levels. Each course features its own unique layout.
Players will immediately notice the Clocktower and Hot Air Balloon from the main level. These courses are actually a few steps below the main bar area. Those who head to the upper level will see the Carousel and Meteorite.
Imagine the two most visually striking holes at your local mini golf course. Every hole at Swingers is memorable. While the courses are stunning they could feel cramped when busy.
In addition to playing Crazy Golf, guests can play some classic amusement games in the Swinger Carnival. This area includes games like Pop-A-Shot basketball, Skeeball, Whack-a-Mole, Claw games, and more. Like an old-school arcade players can win points (instead of tickets) that can be redeemed for prizes like shot glasses, mugs, golf balls, and more.
Swingers is the first location for Emmy Squared Pizza, which was born in Brooklyn, NY. While the Detroit-style pizza might be the calling card, the burgers might be the best items on the menu.
There are multiple bars to grab a drink and relax. The Sunken Garden is located below the main-level Crazy Golf courses. The space features a parasol-covered DJ booth located at the front entry of the English Country House.
Swingers does not charge an admission fee for guests to eat, drink, or play carnival games. A round of Crazy Golf is $35 per person on weekends or $30 midweek. Locals can play a round for as little as $22.50 from Sunday through Wednesday. Carnival game prices start at $15 for 80 credits.
I explored Swingers before it opened and liked the venue a lot but I’ll save my overall opinion until I play a round of Crazy Golf.
The food at Emmy Squared was good and the burger was fantastic. The Estate Bar is huge and offers frozen drinks and my favorite local beer, Able Baker’s Atomic Duck, on tap.
Swingers should appeal to sports fans at Mandalay Bay before and after Raiders games at Allegiant Stadium. It’s a place where I wouldn’t mind hanging out just to eat or drink with friends visiting.
Crazy Golf would be the cherry on top of a fun bar-restaurant experience. I feel the same way about visiting Topgolf at MGM Grand. The venue is great with or without playing the golf games.
