The Luckiest Casinos in Kansas, According To Reviewers

The Sunflower State, and in particular the City of Fountains, has seen enormous success (or luck?) in recent years with its sporting achievements after the Kansas City Chiefs won two Super Bowls in a row. But are natives just as lucky away from the sports field and in the casinos? 

Well, there are a few options to choose from, that’s for sure. There are no casinos in the state that bettors visit frequently that offer all the classic table games, poker offerings, and dedicated sportsbetting sections. Not only that, but plenty of these establishments offer much more in terms of restaurants, luxurious suites, and top-class facilities that are operated by Indian tribes, with a few other land-based casinos on offer. 

Only some forms of gambling are legal in Kansas, and unfortunately, casino sites are not one of them. Luckily for Kansas City Chiefs fans, who may like to back their home team, sports betting is legal as of 2022 in the state.

But we digress, because after all, we’re Casinos.com so we just slightly favor casinos and all they have to offer (although some of us are partial to a sports bet, too). With that in mind, we thought it would be a good idea to find out which is the luckiest casino in Kansas. To do this with put on our swim gear and dove into the reviews of casinos in the state. For what it’s worth, it also means we’ll come across the unluckiest, even if we can’t say so for a matter of fact. 

Our research and analytics teams scraped review data on each of the casinos listed above related to luck-related keywords. Reviews that had one instance of "luck," "won," "winning," "profit," and other terms that could signal some big wins based on our methodology, but it should be noted that this data should be viewed for entertainment purposes.

These are the casinos we considered:

• Prairie Band Casino & Resort
• Kansas Star Casino
• Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel
• Golden Eagle Casino
• 7th Street Casino
• Sac & Fox Casino

We can confirm, after scraping the reviews at all eight casinos that we could find in Kansas, that Kansas Star Casino prevailed as the luckiest with an incredible 38.32% on our luck rating scale!

We’ve done quite a few of these from state to state, and 38.32% is a pretty darn high score. So pat on the back for you, Kansas Star Casino. But what are the patrons saying?

Well, out of 501 reviews, we had 72 mentions of "won" and 36 mentions of "jackpot." But let’s take a look at what people were actually saying. 

Martin Garnder, who visited all the way back in 2017, wrote, “This place is brand new; it has life; it has a vibe; and most importantly, people are winning huge jackpots.”

Robin added, “Stopped on my way back to Oklahoma, had lunch at the buffet, as well as played some. Won a jackpot and had an excellent lunch.” Not a bad pitstop on a journey home, if you ask us! 

There were multiple good scores when it came to Kansas, with second-placed Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel posting a respectable 33.66%. Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel, based in Pittsburg, Kansas, is known for its welcoming atmosphere and variety of games. A testament perhaps to the luck you can get there, they had several mentions of "winner" and "bonus" that boosted their luck score.

And you could take a scenic drive to every casino in the state, because all eight casinos can boast high luck percentage scores! So, moving on to third in the list.

In third place was the Golden Eagle Casino operated by the Kickapoo Tribe, which was just marginally behind Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel, with 32.14% on our luck rating scale. Though it has fewer reviews at 28, visitors mentioned "won," "winning," and "jackpot" frequently throughout their reviews.

With a variety of gaming options, the Golden Eagle Casino has a dedicated section on their site to highlight their winners. With 400 slot machines, ranging from penny slots to $5 that also have a “ticket-in/ticket-out” functionality.

It feels harsh to say that any casino is the unluckiest in Kansas, but unfortunately, Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway got branded as this by our data. The good for patrons visiting this casino is that a luck percentage score of 27.29% is extremely respectable—and would even place this casino in the #1 spot in other states. 

Unfortunately, the title has to go to someone. For Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway, with fewer mentions of the keywords "luck" and "profit," it seems the Kansas City-based property is just marginally less “lucky” than other casinos in the Sunflower State.

Methodology 

Casinos.com utilized Tripadvisor reviews to do an in-depth analysis of phrases associated with luck to determine the luckiest and unluckiest casinos in the state of Kansas. We calculated the percentage of luck-rated mentions in the total Tripadvisor reviews.
