These Are the Luckiest Casinos in Maryland, According To Reviewers

We measure various keywords, including "lucky," "bonus," "profit,” and "jackpot,” among others, to find out what real-life players think of each establishment. In doing so, our methodology should give an indication of which casino is the luckiest, although we can’t say this as a matter of fact.

We can also draw conclusions as to the unluckiest casino in the state—but for the most part, we’ll look on the bright side and try to steer you in the right direction for luck.

So, in Which Maryland Casino Will You Get Lucky? 

Well, if we had that exact answer, you could place a pretty safe bet that we would be there and not here! But enough witty delays and along to what you’ve all been waiting for. 

With an astounding 38.56% luck rating, the Hollywood Casino in Perryville emerged as Maryland’s ‘luckiest’ casino. References to 'won' and 'winning' were found early and often in the review, accumulating to be featured 48 times overall. Likewise, keywords ‘winner’ and ‘bonus’ were frequent. 

One user commented, “I was pleasantly surprised and won money. The free coke machine was also repaired. The casino is safe, minimal walking, and easy parking.” Winning money AND free Coca-Cola? Can’t ask for much more. 

In second place was Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin, which also offers live racing to attendees. Mentions of ‘won’ (35) and ‘luck’ (17) were plentiful among the 269 reviews. 

Steven wrote, “We actually left there with more money than when we had arrived. The slots were loose that day for us.” Loose slots, you say? Tell us more, Steven!  

Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland also scored well, with significantly more reviews to extract data from. Out of the 1,367 reviews, there were a total of 428 luck-related keywords, bringing their luck percentage to 31.31% according to our calculations. This impressive casino has plenty on offer, including over 4,000 slot machines. Yes, you read that right, 4,000. You won’t be left looking for a seat. 

Keywords ‘jackpot’ (41), ‘won’ (144) and ‘profit’ (10) boosted the score here. In fact, despite having some 22,700 fewer reviews than Horseshoe Casino at the time of writing, Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland only had three fewer mentions of the word ‘bonus’ than their behemoth competitor. 

Gary C certainly had a good time by the sounds of it, even if his other half didn’t. He wrote, “As far as luck... the wife finally exhausted her slot budget for the vacation, but I hit a big bonus and tripled my money and took the money home to put back into the account."

Methodology 

Casinos.com utilized Tripadvisor reviews to do an in-depth analysis of phrases associated with luck to determine the luckiest and unluckiest casinos in the state of Maryland. We calculated the percentage of luck-rated mentions in the total Tripadvisor reviews.
