Love is in the air! And if you don’t have plans for Valentine’s Day, this is your reminder to book something, even if you’re reading this article in February - it’s never too late.
If you’re struggling for inspiration on where to take your sweetheart for a romantic getaway in New Jersey, Casinos.com has you covered.
We decided to find out exactly which NJ online casinos are the most romantic. Perhaps there’s one where you can go on a gondola ride like at the Venetian in Vegas. Or maybe not, but at least you should find a decent hotel and a relatively nice restaurant.
We headed to Tripadvisor and scoured the reviews looking for mentions of certain keywords like “romantic,” “wedding,” and “proposal.” Based on the number of times the words were called out, we were able to rank each casino on our special 🩷Casinos.com Romance Scale.🩷
We looked at these casinos in NJ:
Believe it or not, the most romantic casino in NJ is the Golden Nugget. Although there were only nine keyword mentions, the result was a rating of 1.44% on the scale, with several reviews calling out “romantic” or “wedding.” Reviewers mentioned friendly staff, good drinks, and plenty of places to have a romantic meal.
Second on the list we have Ocean Casino Resort with a rating of 1.38% on the scale. The most common keywords here were “wedding” and “romantic,” and five reviews even mentioned “honeymoon.” Located on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, the casino promises sophisticated rooms and modern decor—sounds pretty romantic to us.
One person said, “For part of our honeymoon, we stayed at the resort. Our suite was fantastic and I can't say enough about Amada restaurant and the Cabanas."
Rounding out the top three, Resorts Casino Hotel got 1.24% and there were more than 50 keyword mentions, including 35 reviews talking about weddings. Featuring a spa, panoramic ocean views, and award-winning restaurants, it does sound like a great setting for a wedding or anniversary celebration.
One particularly positive review said, “My husband and I came here to visit and stay for our 30th wedding anniversary. We really had a good time here and we would come back here again, even though it was a 12 hr drive from Toronto, Ontario.”
All relationships run their course eventually; we get it. So if you want a soft way to break up with your partner, you could take them to a really unromantic casino. They might even ghost you when they find out where you’re going. Let’s reveal which casinos are right at the bottom of our list.
The least romantic casino in the state of New Jersey is officially Wild Wild West Casino. Even though the casino bills itself as having a “lively wild west theme,” that doesn’t scream romance to us.
It’s no surprise the casino only got 0.16% on our scale, with a grand total of one keyword mention. That was just one person who called out the word “wedding.” And as the top review on Tripadvisor put it pretty succinctly—“super lame.”
Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City didn’t do much better, with a rating of 0.21%, based on two reviews out of more than 900. One unhappy couple on Tripadvisor called out the “shameless price gouging,” while others complained about dirty rooms, unhelpful staff, and tight machines. Certainly not a place for a relaxing getaway with the one you love.
Compared to the two casinos at the very bottom, Caesars Atlantic City Casino actually didn’t do too badly. The casino got 0.40% on our scale, with 10 keyword mentions.
There were five reviews that used the word “romantic.” Five! While one review said, “Very romantic at night. I felt like I was on a cruise, without the expense,” another bemoaned, “They stuck me in a smoking room where the entire floor reeks to high heaven from marijuana.”. We’ll leave you to draw your own conclusion here.
Casinos.com utilized Tripadvisor reviews to do an in-depth analysis of phrases associated with being romantic to determine the New Jersey casino that is the most romantic. We calculated the percentage of memorable-related mentions in the total Tripadvisor reviews.
