A glimpse of premium seating available (for a price!) at the Caesars Tropicana sportsbook in Atlantic City. These stools and sofa chairs will surely be filled when the Super Bowl gets underway. (Image: Adam Warner / Casinos.com)
We have but one game left in the season. Super LIX, which pits the Philadelphia Eagles against the Kansas City Chiefs. It's a rematch of Super Bowl LVII two years ago, and I imagine that many fans would have preferred two different teams. There’s a bit of Chiefs fatigue plus the Eagles do not generate much in the way of appeal beyond their extraordinarily passionate local fanbase (and of course Philly transplants who are everywhere).
As for the Atlantic City casinos, however, they probably couldn’t have picked a better game. The Philly area is of course a short drive away and as tired as many are of seeing the Chiefs in the big game, dynasties draw eyeballs.
Want to go watch a game at an AC sportsbook? Well, if you want to actually sit down, you may need to make a reservation pretty much right now. Or even before right now as many seats are gone. Oh, and it will cost a decent chunk of change.
The AC sportsbooks seem to be following Las Vegas, who have realized premium sportsbook seating can fetch a premium price.
Here is what Caesars Sports Book at Harrahs had left as of Monday, Jan 27:
The seats are actually cheaper than what it will cost you on March 20, for the opening round of March Madness. Then the Stadium High Top Table goes for $600 and the VIP Stadium Seat costs $350. Of course you get a (much) longer day at the table. There’s also a Standard Fan Cave still available for March Madness at “just” $1,700, though that seats eight.
What do you get? “Caesars Sportsbook at Harrah's Resort is equipped with 3,800 square feet of space including high-resolution LED televisions spanning the walls, extra plush seating, and food service.”
Caesars also runs the sports book at the Tropicana and you will find pretty similar prices, albeit with some different offerings in the different venues. Stadium Seats set you back $150 here too. There’s a “Premium VIP Couch” for $1,250 that seats 6 and Premium tables for 6 ($500) and 4 (also $500).
Pretty much the same prices as at Harrahs, but as per Caesars, “One of the largest sportsbooks in Atlantic City. Enjoy ample seating, a 250-square-foot odds board, and massive panoramic LED screens to catch all the sports betting action.”
Give me Harrahs.
How about the BetMGM Book at the Borgata on the Marina? It's really more sports bar than stadium seating and ... no luck.
As for the others? None of Bally Bet, DraftKings (at Resorts), Fanatics (at Ocean Resort), Hard Rock Atlantic City or Golden Nugget (about to reopen) list reservations on their websites.
