If you spend much time on the internet, chances are you’ve seen people bragging about how great their casino rewards are.
You might think that if you book a trip to a place like Vegas or Atlantic City, all you need to do is sign up for a few player’s cards, and then you’ll get free food, drinks, parking, and even room upgrades. Sounds great, right? Well, it’s not that simple.
While some casinos are great at handing out freebies to loyal customers, others just don’t care that much. And you’d do well to avoid those casinos if you want to maximize your gameplay and your overall experience.
So, our team at Casinos.com decided to do all the hard work for you. We headed to Tripadvisor and looked for mentions of certain keywords like “comped rooms,” “free play offers,” and “VIP treatment.”
Based on how many mentions we found amongst the reviews of each casino, we were able to rank them from top to bottom so that you can see exactly which casino hands out the best rewards.

While you might think that one of the higher-end casinos in Las Vegas is most likely to place at the top of our list, that isn’t the case at all. In fact, the highest-ranking casino when it comes to rewards is Island View Casino Resort in Gulfport, Mississippi. This one got a rating of 4.97%, based on 39 mentions of one of our keywords.
One review gave prospective players some excellent advice, saying, “This is what I tell everyone: come play one time, give your email, and wait for all the good offers to arrive; you will not be sorry. We have a Caesars property close to home but don't visit often because of no free play.” Very interesting! We’d love to try it out for ourselves.
Another review stated, “The rooms are nice, being a new hotel. It's easy to earn free nights and upgrades—we got offers the first time we played there for 3 nights a week and $150 a week in free play.”
Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, California, placed second, with a rating of 4.02%. There were a little under 200 reviews of this casino, and our keywords were mentioned eight times. One reviewer said, “My room was comped as I have gambled there and stayed there a few times. The rooms are very nice, large, and clean.”
Although according to other reviews, it can be difficult to book rooms over weekends without getting them comped through points. And while that’s great news for regular players, it’s probably not ideal for anyone visiting from out of town.
Coming in at third place is Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, with 3.78%. With over 7,400 slots, a state-of-the-art poker room, and 1,700 hotel rooms, the casino is focused on providing a luxurious experience—and, of course, that includes rewards.
One review said, “I am frequently comped rooms in some of the best hotels in Vegas. This room, hands down, beats all of those rooms as far as luxury and comfort. Everything in the room was top-notch.”
Although another said, “Went for our 2 days off and spent enough at the casino to get 2 days comped. We have a baby, and I have to say it was super quiet even with our screaming little one”. Yikes—quiet for you maybe.
Fourth on the list, Resorts World Catskills in Monticello, New York, got a rating of 3.76%, based on just over 800 reviews. “Comped rooms” was the keyword that came up the most often, followed by “free play offer.”
This casino comes equipped with a luxury hotel featuring more than 300 rooms, plus six restaurants, a spa, and a conference center. Sounds like there are plenty of opportunities for some great rewards.
One review mentioned, “There were no lines, no waiting at the Players Club. The desk was fully staffed, and the employees were extremely nice. We got free slot play just for joining, and then we were directed to kiosks where we could spin for more free play. I got a total of $20 to start off—not bad!” So it’s a good idea to make sure you join as soon as you visit.
Finally, Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California, ranked fifth on the list. Pechanga Resort is one of the largest casinos in the US, and it was named the Best Casino in California and on the West Coast. The casino features slots, keno, video poker, and all the usual table games like blackjack and baccarat.
With a rating of 3.33%, the most commonly used phrases were “comped rooms” and “free play offers.” One review says that “I have stayed 3 times and have been comped every time. My next stay is on a Sunday, and I am going to have to pay, but not too much. The personnel are very friendly and helpful."
It seems that you’re pretty likely to get a comped room if you spend enough in the casino, which is always good news.
But what about the other end of the scale? Which casinos in the US have the worst rewards out there? Don’t worry, our Casinos.com team investigated that too.
WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma, bagged the dubious honor of ranking right at the bottom of the list. It got a rating of 0.34%, with just 165 reviews out of over 9,000 mentioning one of our keywords.
No one at all mentioned a “loyalty program,” and only one review called out “VIP treatment.” According to one review, “I received mail offers monthly, but when I call to reserve a room, they never honor the discounts or comped rooms.”
Moving on, the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore did absolutely no better, also getting 0.34% on our scale.
Said one review, “Barely any wins, awful free play offers for a loyal customer such as myself, and not enough staff around to help you, and if they are around, they don’t acknowledge you....unprofessional!”
Now, we don’t know what the awful free play offers actually are, but according to the Horseshoe’s website, you can join the Caesars Rewards program, where you can avail yourself of reduced room rates and other perks.
Surprise, surprise, ranked third from the bottom of the overall list (and worst in Las Vegas) was Circus Circus Hotel & Casino. The casino scored 0.36%, with just 52 keyword mentions amongst 14,000+ reviews.
“The blackjack dealers were friendly, and I did well at the tables. I asked the pit boss if I could be comped for my room. After about 20 minutes he came back and said he could do only one night, so I said okay. At check out there were no comps.” said one review.
Surprisingly, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas came fourth from the bottom of our list, with 0.40%. Perhaps if you can afford to stay there, comps are seen as cheap or tacky? We don’t know what the issue is, but only eight reviews mentioned one of our keywords.
“No slot wins, no drink servers, and almost non-existent rewards club,” said one review. However, according to our research, the Cosmo recently (August 2024) joined the MGM Rewards scheme, so there’s a chance that you might get better offers in the future. With MGM Rewards, you can earn tier credits when you spend money on gaming or the resort, and you can redeem them to enhance your experience.
Fifth from the bottom was the Bellagio in Las Vegas. This one got 0.55% on our scale, with 70 keyword mentions out of 12,000+ reviews. The most commonly used phrase was “comped rooms,” which came up 46 times.
One review of Bellagio said, “The room was comped, with a beautiful fountain view and a very comfortable bed. The $50 additional resort fee was a bit of a shock; I thought it would be comped.
"Also, having to pay for parking in addition to the resort fee was annoying.”
Doesn’t sound too bad, but it’s worth keeping in mind that there are some costs even if you think you’re getting a fully comped room.
